La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion Micro Exfoliant Review

Hello beauties,

With the weather turning cooler towards the mornings and evenings, I am sharing today last but not the least of my skin saviors for the monsoon, La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion. My skin had been a really bad phase of skin breakouts this year and has started to recover now, touchwood! So read on to know about this magic product and my experiences with it...

Price: INR 1190 for 200 ml of the product.

Ingredients: Water • Alcohol Denat. • Glycerin • sodium Citrate • Propylene Glycol • PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil • Disodium EDTA • Capryloyl Salicylic Acid • Citric Acid • Salicylic Acid • Fragrance.

The cap:

I have been using this excellent astringent as a toner for more than two months now along with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo(+). Both of these together have been game changer for my skin. I have noticed that discontinuing with one or the other of these two makes a pimple/acne pop up on my skin.

The La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion is a clear liquid almost like water. I have used it with cotton and with a spray bottle. The method of using it with cotton is better as I feel it dispenses the product evenly and equally over the entire face. Also, cotton helps in removal of remaining makeup and oil from the face remaining after cleansing.

The La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion is mildly fragranced, nothing too disturbing for my nose and the smell dissipates within a minute of usage. It does tingle the skin a bit so people with very sensitive skin might have to be careful with the usage.

With this product also a little goes a long way and I have been using this for almost three months now and you can see the quantity of the product still remaining in the bottle above. So though a little pricey the usage you derive out a single bottle is quite economical in my opinion.

I haven't used the product all alone but have used the product with the Duo+ so cannot comment on the effectiveness of this product alone in combating acne. However, the product is not a preventive step to acne though it will help in the reduction and treatment of acne once you have them.

Overall a great product for people suffering with acne of various forms, and though it comes with a high price tag, I feel it is necessary for those suffering from acne, whether teenage or adult.

Have you used the La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion? Do let me know your experience in the comments below.

See ya...
