Hello beauties,
Today I review one of the more popular sunscreens in the market out there. I have had a love hate relationship with Lotus Herbals since eternity. Even during my college days, I would buy Lotus Herbals products and would love some and would hate some. Hence with a lot of apprehension in my mind as to whether I would like the product or not, I went ahead and bought the Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UVScreen Matte Gel with SPF 50. Read on to know about my experiences with this one...
Price: INR 395 for 100 gm of the product

Since, summers are at their peak now, here in north India, sunscreen is a must for everyone. I infact use sunscreens diligently throughout the year as I am working on computers through out the day and UV rays from Computer screen are equally damaging.
Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UVScreen Matte Gel SPF 50 has been quiet a popular sunscreen and after reading some good reviews I decided to give this one a try. It has a gel like texture (as you can see in the pic above), which I quiet like. It gets absorbed really quickly into the skin. It doesn't make my skin go oily or greasy. I feel the need to use a light moisturiser before using it as it is not at all emollient. The sunscreen just smells amazing, though the smell doesn't linger on for very long duration.
Coming to the most important part, the protection it provides from sun, which is what it is supposed to do, right!!! I found the sunscreen to prevent tanning just as well and that too upon prolonged exposure to sun. However, the sunscreen is not waterproof and does require reapplication after you have been sweating heavily/swimming/engaging in some water activities.
Even though I liked the texture and feel of the sunscreen, it didn't turn out good for my skin. I got minor breakouts on my skin and immediately stopped using it. Furthermore, the ingredient list shows parabens being there, which again is a big no no for me. I am always on the lookout for paraben free products.
Overall, for me it's not a great but an average product as it has parabens.

See ya...
