My Summer Outfit, LOTD, FOTD, Makeup

Hello beauties,

It raining!!! Yoohoo and Boohoo! As much as I love the rains and the freshness they bring, I hate the traffic snarls and never ending jams clogging up the roads. Commuting is pathetic and the only mood spoiler during this time of the year.

So, recently went out to celebrate my parent's marriage anniversary and wore this traditional kurta with a duppatta sporting madhubani/kalamkari print. Kept my makeup quiet minimal, which I generally do at this time of the year (as the heat is more scorching after rains).

Valentines Day Outfit, Makeup

Hello beauties,

Wishing all my readers a very happy and romantic Valentines Day! Hope the day brings in Love Unlimited for you.

So, this is what I am wearing today for a party tonight. A very soft peachy flowy maxi dress with a little bling in my hair. Makeup is very soft and natural with soft eyes and peachy, glossy lips.

Indian Wedding Lookbook: Sagan / Sangeet

Hello beauties,

Am enjoying dilli ki sardi wali mrning (with a cup of hot tea of course) as I am writing this post. It's been a few days since I have written anything, which is not due to lack of topics/subjects but due to an obvious lack of time (ahhh.. the sweet pleasures of being a working mom). But enough ranting and let's get on with today's post.

This post is another one in my wedding lookbook series, which I have been posting over the course of last two months (read HERE and HERE).

For today's Sangeet look I have chosen a white anarkali with lacework embroidery throughout the skirt. It also has a very pretty kundan embellished neckline, which for me renders neckpiece totally non-essential. I have teamed this anarkali with heavy victorian earrings and some rings on the finger. The dress has lot going on, so I have kept the accessories to a minimal.

Diwali 2015 OutFit

Hello beauties,

Wishing all of you and your families a very HAPPY DIWALI :)

For today, I am wearing a yellow gota patti saree, which I got custom made from my cousin along with a red blouse (all inspired from instagram). Will do a detailed post on diwali makeup soon :)

The jewellery (except for the nose pin) is my wedding jewellery, the nose pin is from karigari.

Hope you enjoy the pics :)

Indian Wedding Lookbook: Reception

Hello beauties,

How are you? It's been a long, long time since we chatted (I feel chattier than usual today...), so let's chat about one of my LOTDs, which you might recognize from my twitter profile.

This LOTD was for a wedding reception (of course, you know 'cause of the post title, how dumb of me, sighs loudly). It was a relatives wedding and I decided to keep my look simple yet elegant by wearing this lovely Saree (a close friend's creation). Also, decided to throw in a few key jewellery pieces, and not go overboard.

Indian Wedding Lookbook: Wedding / Reception

Hello beauties,

If you happen to follow me on Instagram (follow me @kumkumiitd), then you might have witnessed a few of my Indian Wedding/Sangeet/Reception LOTDs posted earlier this year.

Nonetheless, I thought it would be a good idea to share them in a blog post as well. So, here comes the first one of the series, a reception LOTD for my cousin’s wedding. Let me give you a background, the wedding was literally kind of fairy tale weddings, where the prince (my cousin in this scenario) decided to sway his princess (his fiance) off her feet. They had a court marriage and followed it up with a reception attended by our near and dear ones.

So, I get a call one fine evening from my cousin inviting me for the reception on the next day. All I could mutter was a hurried congrats; with my mind already in a tizzy about … WHAT WOULD I WEAR???

As I went into a panic mode, searching my wardrobe for clothes (which stock up all kinds of clothes as is with all of us), but it’s always like: Water, Water everywhere, not a single drop to drink…
Finally, after an hour I got hold of this lovely Anarkali, with this classic golden and maroon combination, with lovely golden thread work embroidery. Then decided to pair it with some fusion traditional jewelry bought from a colleague and I was all set.

Dress: Pitambari, South Extension

Jewelry: Costume Jewelry

Footwear (not seen here): Nine West

So, what do you think about my rushed LOTD? Would love to hear about your rushed LOTDs.

See ya...

My Rakshabandhan Outfit and FOTD

Hope you guys had a awesome Rakshabandhan with your families. I get to meet all my cousins after a long time (basically after Diwali) and get to share a lot of details about each other's lives then.

So, this was what I decided to wear this year, a green suit (generally I wear Saree) with thread embroidery (purchased from Meena Bazaar), loved the embroidery when I first saw it and bought it instantly. Particularly love the Ladies with tumblers on their head. It has a chiffon dupatta with lining, which is light weight and easy to carry (not shown here).
