Easy Vegetable Biryani / Pulao Recipe

Hello People,

After an overdose of loads of mithais and heavy duty fried stuff, I decided to make something tasty yet not fried and heavy and I call this a easy Vegetable Biryani Recipe.

Let's see the ingredients first:

1 cup rice
1 finely chopped tomato
a few florets of cauliflower, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
5-6 French beans, finely chopped
10-12 cashewnuts
a few strands of saffron soaked in 1/2 cup warm milk
2 bay leaves
3-4 cloves
a small stick of cinnamon
3-4 small cardamom
2 tsp of clarified butter / ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds
Salt to taste

Microwave Recipe: Sooji Halwa

Hello Girls,

How was your weekend, hope all of you are having a good time this festive season. Today, I decided to make some halwa, poori, and chole, as jains traditionally don't celebrate navratras but of course, everyone loves good food.

So, today I decided to make the traditional Sooji halwa, but in a microwave and with milk. So, I start by listing ingredients first:

1 cup Sooji / Semolina
1/2 cup ghee / clarified butter
1 cup Sugar
4 cups Milk
A few strands of saffron
Cardamom Powder (1 tsp)
Some nuts (for garnish)

Start by adding the strands of saffron to milk and let them sit for 10-15 minutes.

Plain Rava Idli recipe

I haven't posted any recipe since long on this blog, so when yesterday morning when I was preparing Plain Rava Idli for a Office PotLuck, I quickly took a few pictures so that I could share this easy recipe with you.

It's almost instant Idli with the cooking time of 7 minutes only for 12 fluffy Rava Idlis.

Almond burfi

Hello people,

Being a working mommy takes its toll on you, but teaches you alot of things. From my experience, I would say it has taught me time management and some very quick, easy to make, or 5 minute recipes, one of which I would be sharing with you today. There would be more such recipes in the coming days, hope you guys like this and cook this for your near and dear ones. This is my baby's favorite sweet as well.

Yummy nan khatai (indian cookies) recipe

Hello people,

To make your new year sweeter a bit more, I would share with guys another awesome but very simple recipe for indian cookies (also known as Nan Khatai, see pics below for reference). Though it would be imposiible to believe, the ingredient list is very small and easily available in everone's home.


This is the most relished and requested dish from my friends and relatives alike, with everyone keeps asking for more every time. The recipe is just so awesome and took away my fear of baking. Since, baking is one of my things to do this year, will share more baking recipes with you in the coming days.

Moong dal halwa recipe

So, the new year is here. Why not start it on a sweet note? Today I am going to share with you guys a healthy moong dal halwa recipe (a staple sweet dish in my home during winters). It is a favorite with all the members of my family from the eldest to the youngest. So, let's make some delicious moong dal halwa recipe in the new year.

First, the ingredient list (it is quite short you see):

1 bowl Moong dal
1and half bowls ghee
half bowl fresh cream
1 bowl sugar
2 bowls water
a few strand of saffron
Grated cashews and almond (for decoration)
