Batiste Dry Shampoo Review

Hello beauties,

I still remember the good old days, when I used to sprinkle baby powder to my hair roots, with the risk of them becoming white, to absorb the excess oil on those evening, when I had to go out impromptu, but had little time left to shampoo my tresses. My mother used to scoff my efforts during those days saying that I would be left with nothing but oily and white hair. But then, she was my mother who hated seeing me older than herself.

Cut to the present times, we have a plethora of dry shampoos out there, from various brands. Today, I will be sharing a staple summer product for me, the dry shampoo from Batiste. A recent addition to the Indian hair care market. I got this beauty from my Germany trip last year, but then I received a fruity/cherry scented product in my Fab bag. So, right now I have two Batiste dry shampoos enough to last me for the upcoming summer and monsoon months.

Guest Post by Saima

Hair has always played a crucial role in our society. Hair is a crowning glory for both men and women.  It is associated with youthfulness and beauty in women whereas it showcases virility and masculinity in men. We see our hair as a reflection for our identity. It is a part that makes us different from other people. Hair also defines freedom. We can change our hair the way we want to and it symbolizes that we have control of our lives and the decisions we make are our own.

Organix Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Serum Review, Photos

Hello beauties,

The festive season is just right around the corner and for me this is the most awaited time of the year, with the lights, awesome food, card games and some well spent family time. But I also notice during this time that the weather starts to turn drier, taking its toll on my skin as well as hair.

Today, I am reviewing another great product with you from Organix, Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco, a hair serum for fine, brittle and delicate textured hair. If you are a reader of my blog, you would know that I have the finest and limpest hair in the world, which fall straight and don’t hold any hair style for more than 5 minutes.

Biotique Bio Mountain Ebony Vitalizing Serum for Falling Hair Review

Hello beauties,

I am so, so, so, sorry for being so, so, so away! Been under the weather lately with the onset of viral fever. But all is well now, so I will be back to regular postings!

Today, I am reviewing a hair product from Biotique, an anti-hair fall vitalizing serum (quiet a mouthful). I got this on the spur of the moment, cause during monsoon my hair goes really limp, making me not wanting it to oil at all and I wanted something which could provide nourishment to my hair without making it oily and greasy (if you get the flow).

Top 5 Hair Care Tips

Hello beauties,

I had mentioned in my previous post about my hair story. Today I am going to share a few tips which have helped me in regaining some of the lost hair glory, though I still have a long way to go...

1. Oil Regularly: This is one of the most common advice, which has been handed down from generation to generation in our country. I didn't use to believe it first, but now after having the horrifying experience of loosing out the beauty and texture of my skin, I am a true believer. Since I have an oily scalp, my oil application is mostly concentrated through the length of my hair, the part which is far from the scalp and not receiving the nutrition. Doing this has simplified my hair wash routine and I have observed better shine and manageability of my hair.

2. Wash hair twice (or thrice a week): Earlier I used to feel that my hair is getting greasy and used to wash them every alternate day. However, I soon realized that I am stripping away the natural oils from my scalp too frequently and therefore turning my hair oilier. Now I try to limit my hair washes to a maximum of three per week and am coping just fine. Initially, the hair turned greasy but soon enough my hair got the hang of it and are not so greasy anymore between washes.

3. Condition hair after every wash: One of the most important hair care rules is to condition hair. Shampoos strip away essential oils and nutrients from the hair leaving the hair shaft dry. However, conditioned hair not only stay fresh longer, but are tangle free for longer duration, since the hair shaft gets the goodness of oils and moisture back. Just make sure not to condition near your hair roots and wash off the conditioner properly. You can alternatively use leave in conditioners, which are primarily silicon based, such as, Livon.

4. Use Wooden Combs: This tip I have read on the internet by some gorgeous beauties with even more gorgeous hair. They mention never ever using a plastic comb or brush and raving about the benefits of wooden comb, such as they don't cause static, they are natural hence better for hair, they help in oil control, and so on. I was intrigued and decided to go ahead with a wooden comb. And it turned out that changing to a wooden comb has been the best decision I have ever made for my hair. Wooden combs don't stretch your hair or tangle them and leave them with a beautiful volume 'cause of their anti-static properties. Now I have two wooden combs and a wooden brush, all of which help me in managing my hair with a relaxed ease.

5. Use Henna for greying hair: I am a huge fan of natural products and not just organic or herbal. So, why use a chemical laden dye for hair? Since I started having grey hair, I have decided to use Henna and Henna only for coloring my hair. I mix coffee in my henna to make the orangey tines less pronounced in my hair. Moreover, I have dark brown hair leading to a less significant contrast with the Henna. Currently, I am using henna from Khadi and have tries Henna from brands, such as, Just Herbs, Jovees etc.

So these are the hair care tips which have worked for me. What is your hair care routine? Do let me know in the comments below.

See ya...

OGX (Organix) Thick & Full Biotin & Collagen Amplifying Lotion Review

Hello beauties,

Hope you all had a blast during this Holi weekend! I played Holi like there was no tomorrow and my friends took every opportunity to dunk each one of us in the pinkest pink color. Still trying to get the colour off me now. I was really worried about my hair though, cause I don't like to wash it often and colour = chemicals for me and it leaves me worried about their health and care.

Enough blabbering, but coming to the topic of hair care, today I will be sharing with you my holi grail serum from Organix. They actually mention it as a lotion, but it has a more gel like consistency. So, let's get the name first, the serum is called Organix Thick & Full Biotin & Collagen Amplifying Lotion.

Next let me tell you something about my hair. My hair is of the very fine and limp types and doesn't hold any curl and always looks flat, whether or not it has been shampooed. I have started caring for it recently and the results have been encouraging so far. Will do a detailed post once I get positive results.

So, I have been looking for volumising products since eternity for my fine and limp hair. This has been the best product so far in my hair vanity.

Read on to know more about my experience with this product.

Organix Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Intense Moisturising Treatment Swatch, Review

Hello beauties,

Don't know but with the onset of this new year, I have been experiencing a lot of hair fall. I decided to get a trim but ended up losing more than 4 inches of my hair. I am so miserable now (booo hooo).

But, I also realised that I even though I have fine and limp hair, I need to condition my hair regularly (which I don't) more so during winter months, else my hair starts to become more frizzy and limp leading to more hair fall. Sadly, conditioning my hair every time is not my cup of tea and thus I have to find some solution which would allow me to intensely condition my hair once a week and retain its bounce, shine, and moisture. Since Organix is my favourite brand for hair products, I decided to opt for Argan Oil Mositurising Treatment Hair Masque.

Below is what I packed for my skin care as well as makeup. The top row includes skin care items, second row is eye and lip products, and the last row has face products with some jewelry.

Kerastase Bain Volumactive Shampoo Review, Swatch

Hello Girls,

TGIF (smiles and hugs), I guess the new year has not just sunk in and I already need a big break. Thank god for two days of serenity (I hope). Today, will be sharing my new found love from Kerastase, the Kerastase Bain Volumactive Shampoo. I had been wanting to try out this brand since eternity but sadly they were not available at any retail stores or even departmental stores here. Only some salons stocked them.
Then one day, while window shopping online, I saw these at Purplle (a new e-shopping website), you can find the link in my right side bar. I knew then and there that I had to get it. So I ordered it in less than a minute and waited for my order, anxiously wanting to try it.

Giovanni Frizz be Gone Hair Serum Swatch, Review

Hello Ladies,

My festive spirit seems to be dampened a bit by the onslaught of cold / flu. I think it's all because of this Fog/ Smog happening here. I so wish the sun would rise and shine.

A little background story before reviewing the Serum. My hair have been poker straight and shiny since time immemorial. Also I have really oily roots, so much so that I wash my hair every alternate day. Only recently, I have started noticing my hair ends becoming frizzy. Conditioners are not helping either as they make my hair greasy within a day. So, I was thinking of trying out a hair serum but was skeptical about leaving chemicals on my hair. Then while browsing online, I spotted this hair serum and bought it on impulse.

Oriflame Nature Secrets Wheat and Coconut Hot Oil Review

Hey girls,

The weekend is here and so are the SALES, almost all the stores are on SALE, so go ahead and splurge!! OK, I start by telling you the present condition of my hair, which though oily at the roots, have started becoming a little frizzy at the ends due to excessive AC, I guess. Even though I am regularly using a conditioner and a hair mask, the friziness returns after one day of washing my hair. Then I remembered a product, I was using earlier for my hair, and it was a hot oil from oriflame.

The only problem with oriflame products is that they are available through a sales rep only, so I located one in my vicinity and ordered this awesome oil.
