SOS Organics Orange Spice Body Scrub Review

Hello everyone,

So weekend are for me pampering sessions, when I try and rejuvenate myself after a week of hectic activity. Body scrubbing forms a part of that session, which is a must do for me apart from my normal facial skin pampering with scrubs and packs.

I got this one during a recent healthkart haul I shared with you guys (read HERE). I didn't have much expectation to start with this product but since it boasted of natural ingredients, I decided to give it a try.

Price: INR 170 for 100 gm of the product. Packaging is quiet normal with the product contained in a plastic tub (albeit sturdy) with a screw lid on top. Below the lid is a white lid to avoid spilling of the scrub. At first I thought of dispensing with it but as it turns out this is an essential requirement. You will shortly see why...

Ingredients:

The scrub:

So, the pic above would explain the requirement of the white lid provided to avoid spillage. The scrub is very granular so much so that the sugar crystals are just as hey would be outside the scrub. I have expected this to be a little more fine that it is. I have used this twice and the tub is almost half of the original quantity. This happens because, a lot of scrub is wasted during application as the scrub particles are not gelled with each other and are just so powdery. Personally, I have added a little bit of olive oil in it to allow the particles a base where they could all come together.
The scrubbing action is nice and not very rough when i use this, this was very surprising but the sugar crystals seem to melt really fast in my palm itself. After scrubbing and washing off I am actually left with a baby soft skin, which doesn't need any moisturization for the whole day. I love this part about it.
Now coming to the fragrance, it is very mild and pleasant, though nothing which lingers. The smell id pleasantly aromatic and soothing.

Product rating: B-, available via healthkart, I couldn't find it anywhere else. Overall, decent for the price it retails but I would prefer that they increase the quantity of essential oils so that the scrub particles gel with each other and product wastage would reduce. Personally, I wouldn't be repurchasing it.

Take care...

  3. The granules are really too big...can be very harsh and crumbly on sensitive skin.

  5. It really looks delectable Kumkum :) Is it really 100% organic/natural with zero chemicals? I'm a bit wary of this since natural products should have a low shelf life. Please let me know about this :)

    1. thanks dear, yes it is free of chemicals as per ingredient list. Yes it does seem to degrade a bit fast but I used it up within a month :)
